The 53rd edition of the book fair witnessed the participation of more than 1,000 publishers, with holograms highlighting this year.
About The Exhibition
The Cairo International Book Fair is the largest and oldest book fair in the Arab world, held every year in the last week of January in Cairo, Egypt, at Egypt International Exhibitions Center in New Cairo, it is organised by the General Egyptian Book Organisation.
The Writer and researcher Suhair Al-Qalamawi was the first to supervise the establishment of the first book fair. That is why the 2008 edition celebrated Qalamawi's Person of the Year.

Egyptian literature is one of the ancient literatures, and Egypt is considered the gateway to Islamic culture in the modern era from the beginning of the nineteenth century in Egyptian literature in all its forms, as literature rose in it and literary schools appeared in Egypt that were the loss and collapse of poetry. Ahmed Shawky, the poet of the Nile, Hafez Ibrahim, and the struggling poet Abdel Aziz Maslouh, and there were many schools after that, including the Diwan School.

An Egyptian writer, novelist, and a pioneer of the short story, he was born in Cairo to a family with Turkish roots. He studied law and worked as a lawyer, the diplomatic corps and journalistic work. He is considered a landmark in the history of literature and cinema and is considered one of the great Egyptian writers. In his literary field, he published four collections of short stories, and one of his most famous novels is Qandil Um Hashim, and he wrote many articles and other short stories. He won the State Appreciation Award in Literature, and the French government awarded him the Knight Medal of the First Class in 1983. He was among those who received the King Faisal International Award. Yahya Hakki passed away at the age of 87, after immortalizing a great legacy of thought and literature.
